The GT-R is nasty. Them auto's they have shift so fast. I wish I could afford one. But a used 07 was still 60k. And nice they finally releasedthe Alpha 12 kit..1300whp..just plain nasty.

They have a GT-R that went 10.0 with just bolt ons and tune.

in all serious-ness, it really blows my mind how much absolute performance you can get for so cheap. Nevermind the alpha 12 kit, which I believe is the whole cost of another GTR(the 10 kit is $64,000..), and at that point it sort of is like anything else. In chipped/stock form though there's not too much that can touch it. It almost makes me sick to think about it.

That rear view camera footage...I've watched F1 rear view footage that didn't seem like it was accelerating that fast. That blows my mind.

A new FT-R has went 10.0X with just tune/and some bolt ons. This Alpha 12 kit is going to be even nastier on a roll race. From any speed it is going to spank about everything. Z06/ZR1 will need some major mods to hold up to it.

I really can't imagine you wouldn't be able to go faster in a Z06/ZR1 with the same amount or a lot less $$ into it. . shearly from a parts avaliabilty standpoint, there's absolutely no competition. An Alpha 12 GT-R is pushing 200K, I don't even know where you could spend 100K in a ZR1/Z06 with something as mass-manufactured as an LS3 block.

That's my local track! LOL US41 (RIPieces) now No Limit Raceway. I can tell you while I worked there I was privy to quite a few "private" sessions (but not this one) where either local big name racers (Harry Hruska from Precision Turbo was there quite frequently) all the way down to some "entrepreneurial" Chicago street racers. One fellow who did not have an up-and-up profession would show up with an F-450 with a huge three-car trailer loaded with a Camaro, Malibu, and sometimes a GNX. All plated and street driven, and well, let's just say not one of them ever took more than 9 seconds to complete a pass....

The GT-R is cool, but with an LS3, twin 72s, and some decent chassis pieces, in something with a curb weight around 35-3600lbs you could have, oh, about (1) 9.0 car for every day of the week for $200k. Hell I'd like just one 9.0 car and keep the rest in my pocket!!

I hope you plan to build that LS3. It took Lingenfelter a 427 with blower to reach 9s and 8's in a camaro that had some weight reduction. That GT-R has 8's on some better tires. They only have about 150K in that car..LOL

Can't be that bad.... I watched Stephanie Eggum's Civic run 3.78 second 330' times with Harry calling it a "pig" but then making it out the big end in the 7.8x range at over 178mph. This was on a teeny 1.8L B18 Honda with a 74mm turbo that they calculated made a little over 1000HP at the wheels because once the boost hit nothing they did would hold the tires on the dyno. Not that I dig Hondas, or that I think an 1800lb car (with driver) is a true representation, but think about this: the car was running in the 134-136mph range at the 660', and trapped 178-180 that day, over 4 years ago. I don't know where she is now.. but here's some eye candy:
