Blacked out Window Trim -- Vinyl?
Any of you used 3M vinyl or something similar to "black out" the window trim?
Any suggestions? (cant do the full black out pieces now -- that darn Santa is killing me)

In the beginning there were many G8 owners who used a matblack vinyl on their trim and it came out nice. Once you can afford the real black out trim it should hold up nice for you

I plasti dipped mine until I got the black stuff.
My upper trim is still plasti dipped going on three years now. Still looks good.

Removed all the pieces and "rattle can" painted it?

The lower window trim has very delicate clips. I would tape them off. But the upper needs the dip to have a good coat all the way around the edge to prevent a pressure washer from blowing it off.
Clean with soap and water. If you wipe with a thinner it will be hard to peel off.
Just so you know what product I'm talking about. It's called plasti-dip you can get it just about anywhere. Two cans will do all the trim. Watch some YouTube videos on how to use it best.

The problem I've seen with plasti-dipping them is where the rear seal rubs when the door is shut. It peels it off. If you don't use your rear doors much, it'll probably be ok! I'm running OE black and they're wearing wonderfully.
