Newer Silverado, intermittent CEL, but no codes
My coworker has a Silverado that is a few years old. He said the CEL has been coming on intermittently, then going away. He said there doesn't seem to be any pattern to it, and no other apparent symptoms. I tried my scan tool and it didn't show any codes. The light was off at the time. What kind of issues can cause this behavior?

You need to hook up hp tuners and see what is stored in history or pending. I am not sure if the scanners at parts shops will show codes in history. I did a cam swap on an 06 and had some cels associated with random misfire, evap and egr, so I might have info for you if you can narrow it down.

That would require sourcing an HPTuner. Will an SC Cortex scan stored codes? My Actron I tried showed active and pending codes. No choice of stored. I also have an Innova... 8150 I think.
