Default Easy TPMS Relearn Tool (Autel 501)

A few weeks back, I bought an Autel 501 TPMS scantool to diagnose why the tpms light wouldn't go away on my wife's van. I also used it today to learn the sensors after taking off my G8s winter wheels. This tool makes it very easy. You scan each wheel, plug the tool into the obd port, and push the button to load the sensor IDs into the PCM. All done. No pushing fob buttons while turning the key, deflating each tire till it honks, then refilling tires. It'll also show you the status of each sensor, read and clear TPMS system codes, and tell you how to do a relearn if you don't want to use the tool. It also does some sort of sensor preprogram for Autel brand TPMS sensors, if you want to use them. It's $240 or so, but I do like it.

I have a $20 tool too. It still requires the horn honks, just without refilling tires, if it works like it was supposed to. For some reason, the batteries only last about 5 minutes, and getting it to read the sensors takes FOREVER. I've never gotten through a full set of wheels with it before giving up on it and doing it the full manual way.
