The whole site has been down for the last 2 days. They are usually great to deal with I am not sure what is going on. Bad timing I guess.

Let me know how it goes my parts should be here in a few days and I am curious. I guess the real pain will be taking the glove box out, more than making the cables.

The glove box is super easy to remove. The cables snap into place. This is a very easy process.
Don't be jealous because my G8 is Orange...

will do. monoprice kinda screwed me a little. I ended up spending like $8 at radioshack for the cables (which is still a lot better than what JHP wants). I suppose if i did it right, i would have ordered the composite hookups when I bought my other cables from them a few weeks ago.

All in the fun of a project build.

Ya, I have to say that I am very disappointed in MonoPrice; they have never had an issue like this before. I am calling BS on there server maintenance being down for 1-2 weeks. I work in IT and if my site was down for 1-2 hours I would have a Vice President standing behind me asking when it was going to be back up. It seems like maybe they are having supplier issues and just don’t want to admit it.

Either way I am pumped about the project too even if I have to pay a little more for the connectors.

I am working on a Media Center setup that will have 110v power inverter, remote, be able to play videos, TV shows, movies, music, and picture slideshows all from an SD card, thumb drive, or external hard drive. And best of all it will all fit in the top portion of the glove box. I will post pictures of the build once I have it done and working....if my parts would ever get here. Did they arrive via USPS or UPS??

    Interesting. Quote from their website:

A few of our customers recently reported to us that information from credit cards they used on the Monoprice website had been misused. We promptly began an investigation with the help of expert computer forensic investigators to determine if any card data had been stolen from our computers.

To date, the investigators have found no evidence that card information has been stolen from Monoprice’s computer network. As a precaution to ensure that our customers’ information is not at risk, we have taken our website offline temporarily while we and our investigators complete the audit of our computer network.

We want to ensure that there is no security vulnerability in any part of our computer network system. We notified local and federal law enforcement agencies, our credit card processing business partners, and all credit card companies that some of our customers reported concerns regarding their card information to us.

We also advised these entities that we are working with outside security specialists to determine if there was breach of our computer system. We will post additional information when it is available. We regret any inconvenience that our investigation and the temporary suspension of the Monoprice website may have caused you. Thank you so much for your great support.

I had the other parts besides the ones I got from Germany laying around so the whole thing was free, in a way. The parts I got from Tyco were to easy to hook together. Making the cables took about 1/2 hour (I only have a hair dryer for the shrink rap). If you have any questions let me no. I am still holding off on the VIM from JHP to see if someone comes out with something cheaper. I Hope so.
