I have the original battery with 32,000 miles. The Monday after New Years it was dead after not driving it for 2 days.
I have not an an issue since, but I'm driving it everyday so maybe that's not enough time for it to drain? From what I'm reading here, it sounds like these originals are real lousy. I started to check on replacements and the best price I found was $144.00 at Auto Zone.
You may not believe this, but I traded my 2000 SSEi for the G8 in September, and it had the original battery
in it still goin' strong. It was mounted under the rear seat, maybe that helped? That's 11 years and 105,000 miles!!!

There is a normal power draw on the car all the time. I know on the GTO is was something like 300 mA. with the computers, anti-theft, onstar, etc. there has to be some ammount all the time.

Does anyone happen to know what it is?

Replaced mine with an AutoZone 94r. I would love the weight reduction of the Braille battery, but between the price and the added cost an time to make a new mount, I had to say no. Stock batt is plenty heavy, though.

Oddly enough, I took my battery to the dealership to have it checked. They said it was fine, but didn't load test it. It's started the G8 every time without a problem. 3 year old battery. 1st 888 FTW

My battery died in storage after 3 weeks. Complete DOA, couldn't jump, had to be towed to dealer. They charged the battery and then tested it for warranty replacement. It passed! Warranty replacement standards must be low. Got the car back and battery showed 84% charge. Returned to storage for 1 week and it dropped to 53%. Drove it today for 20 miles on the highway with the Drls turned off - back up to 58%. I'm not having a lot of confidence in this battery and will probably change it myself. Worth the money to not have to worry about being stuck somewhere.
