Yea, GM manual. Straight from AllData. Obviously doesn't mean there isn't another way.

    Sweet!

I have to confess that I had a gut feeling that the 2032 batteries that I throw away every year from my companies panic alarm buttons just might be the same batteries for the key fobs. I didn't feel right throwing away the batteries just because they are a year old and never used, we still change them. Guess I'm set for a while now!

Our batteries are the standard Energizer's so I doubt the perform any better but with the huge supply I have, I'm not too worried about it!

I can get standard coin cell batteries for like $0.36, but I work part time at Batteries Plus. Unfortunatly I can't really exploit this perk.

so once the battery is removed and replaced does it have to be re-programed? can you start the car again. Otherwise you can only do one key at a time.

I mostly use fixed key as I don't want to wear on the switchblade as much. knowing the previous owner use it the most. (fixed key was never used as i can tell)

So the battery isn't soldered in? good to kow.

Thanks for documenting this. I had to make the swap today and it made it a hell of a lot easier with visual instructions!
