    Nice rides!

Good question...Both are really different cars. The GXP more torquey, amercian muscle and sound, and you feel it. The M is deceptively fast and smooth, you hardly realize how fast you are going.
Both are fun to drive, one handles those turns much better though.
I am not really into street racing, but one of these days if I hit the track I will post up numbers on both.

I do get drive by's by some european guys you can tell they give you the "oh just a pontiac type of look" wtf. Or been in the M get the opposite like I am a tool. Shoot I'll be at the gas station someone & will ask me about it, I open it up let them check it out, just a car! Why can't people just appreciate nice cars for what they are, I do. I mean there are alot of nice cars to look at out there and heck there is always someone faster! Enough ranting....

I am in Snoho, well back in the rural area. If you see it buzzing around probably my wife, I usually drive the G8, she won't race ya. Street racing too risky IMO, although sometimes a quick sprint to 70+ can be fun. Love north 522 at the paradise light if you get lined up with a car there, I have run a couple cars there to the merge!http://forum.grrrr8.net/images/smilies/spank.gif
1/4 mile times for stock (for now) M3's w/dct are easy to find if you want to know how fast it goes in a straight line....although pushing the pedal down and going straight not really racing (even with a clutch). Now a track with curves, twists, approach angles, entering speeds, exit speeds etc, that is where the fun is at IMO.
Well if you do see me around in either car least honk and say HI.....

lol we're neighbors! or pretty darn close...I live right off 522. I raced an M5 on 522 about 6 weeks ago. I pick and choose my street races very carefully. No effing around on roads unless no one else is on the road, or a quick race to 70 like you said. You'll have to drive my g8 after I have the pedders track II suspension put on and compare that to your M3. Pedder's pulled over 1g with the g8 with the fully upgraded suspension. I can't drive like they can but its supposed to be a substantial improvement.

Sweet, love to see your car and hear it roar. I order a vararam cai, looking to get a liv tune, and would like to hear more exhaust setups before I decide on that mod, as it is my daily and wife drives it, so noise is an issue.
Yeah, my fav part of driving the M is the corners and the turns, so like to go for a ride in yours and compare. Glad you keep it safe on the streets, but still have fun.

I keep my eye out for you as I am always in Monroe area, travel 522 home. Have not seen too many G8's this area (one several months bac, maybe you?).

mmm not sure...I think they do mid to high 12's in the quarter. I haven't done my 1/4 miles yet, but I think I can get close. Not to mention it takes a good driver to get those times out of the manual trannys. I can hope

    Car & Driver
    M3 coupe 6MT
    0-to-60-mph time: 4.4 sec
    Standing 1/4 mile: 12.9 sec @ 111 mph

*I've seen times for 2008+ doing mid 12's too...that would be tougher lol I'm not delusional...yet*
