Here is the 'Mega Stalker' at a straight-line speed/drag competition or something like that.

Good grief... You know it's fast when a track video actually LOOKS fast.

I have a feeling these things will be smashing track records if/when ppl race them. In 2008, the creator of the Stalker (pre-V8), Dennis Brunton, using his V6 supercharged Stalker, earned the NASA TTU track record at Homestead-Miami Speedway (2.21 mi Club course) with a 1:32.84 . http://www.nasa-tt.com/Florida_Track_Records It appears to be still holding today. A modified LS3 could almost double the HP of the V6 + SC, and also weighs 40 lbs less.

There is a video here: http://stalkercars.com/wp-content/up...Lap_Record.wmv

Being fair, it's an apples-to-oranges comparison. When production car laps - such as those run by the ZR1 and Viper - are timed at VIR, they run a track configuration called Grand West which is 4.2 miles long. The Stalker video above shows him only running the Full Course, which is only 3.27 miles long and extends the back straight, allowing for a higher top speed on track. Track configuration information and maps can be found at VIR's site.

Mind, that doesn't make it any less impressive. For reference, my fastest lap ever at an HPDE around VIR Full Course is 2:32.

I'm told 2-3 weeks until my kit is delivered. I'm going a little crazy waiting.

Read 3 automotive wiring books and a fastener book and am looking for more books. I never thought I would enjoy a book about nuts, bolts, and fasteners, but the author/racer Carroll Smith is/was a great writer. For those even remotely interested, it's called "Carroll Smith's Nuts, Bolts, Fasteners and Plumbing Handbook", ISBN: 0879384069. I'll probably pick up the remainder of Carroll Smith's books.

My favorite wiring book of the 3 I read was Jim Horner's Automotive Electrical Handbook: How to Wire a Car from Scratch, ISBN 0895862387. Even though it was written in the 80's, many of the principles still apply.

Look at the meats on this dedicated autocross spec'd car. It makes my neck hurt just to look at it:

    Ha! Couldn't resist, huh?

So will this take the place of the G8, or will the G8 be retired to weekend/pleasure duty?
