    True, I do not know exactly how Lonnie had you hook your pumps up but by the sounds of it I am willing to bet his dual pump wiring approach is similar to mine if he is having you guys use 2 additional relays. Chances are likely that his fuel pump circuit is still controlled by the VCM through that master relay. An easy way to test this would be when you turn your key to the on position but not start it. If your pumps cycle for a few seconds then turn off then his relays are still controlled by the stock master relay and it can be jumpered to manually activate the pumps. If they just stay on the whole time then Lonnie has most likely had you run your complete own key on 12v powered circuit for the pumps which would be independent of VCM control. Even though i prefer the first approach, both ways of wiring are acceptable practice. At least if you ever have to troubleshoot a fuel pump power issue then you would know where to backtrack to.
