They clean up the engine compartment, allow removal of the black NVH cover to cut down heat soak and it allows for easier install of Holden engine covers. They factory ones also sit right on the fuel rail.

I think most of these hose kits have been a Sat/Sun install project.

OK, so having read this thread, I guess I'm still going to ask a stupid question - or maybe several. Bear with me.

Other than visual and maybe sound, are you saying that the stock engine cover and the other fake plenum cover do nothing else beneficial for our cars? In fact, they evidently make matters worse - performance wise - because they hold heat in or add to Heat Soak??

Is there more engine noise without the cover?

Who the $*&^ designed that? I was under the hood yesterday (well actually almost every day) and the stock ones look like crap and sit right there in a high heat / high part content area. Weird.

Also, without the stock covers on and with the new kit in place, would it make sense to open up (even more than stock) those hood vents to let that heat out?

Finally, in what colors can these be fabricated?

    Thx.

A little more noise then stock from the DOD lifters. They only come in black.
