instrument cluster dead
So, My cars battery went dead, I gave it a jump start and now my instrument panel does not work, no instrument panel lights, tach and speedometer do not work. I checked all the fuses, under hood, inside cab and in the trunk, all are okay. Any thoughts? anyone have this sort of issue before? Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Michael

Wow that really sucks how long was the battery dead?
Maybe unhook the battery and hook it up again

uhm did you check the fuses with a meter - IE test they are actually continuous. Some of the darker fuses are a bit hard to see versus knowing they are bad.
Curious - does anything in the car actually work.
IE do the headlamps come on - does the radio light up etc etc. IIRC there are fuses at the battery - I think 50 AMP jobs. Maybe I'm thinking of another car.
Finally I think there are 1 or 2 relays that have to close before it comes on.

Thanks for the replies,
texn884, i have unhooked the battery and even bought a new one. battery was dead for less than a week.
Napalm, I have not checked with a meter yet, Lights work, radio works the whole radio cluster works. atari gauges work, brake lights headlights and blinkers work on outside of car, the only thing that does not work are the instrument panel, speedomete, tach, gas gauge and engine temp gauge and all other warning lights on instrument panel along with the controls on the steering wheel do not work. Also the radio panel on the upper two corners where it tells you what temperature your cabin heat is at, I think it swithced to celsius. it usually starts and 60 degrees and goes up to 80, now it starts at 10 and goes to 30. other than that everthing else works.
Thanks.

May you please share if your issue was ever resolved and how? My car is currently behaving in the exact same way.
I know I am reviving an old thread. I have also tried PMing the OP.
