So are the cops out there supposed to know what a stock intake looks like and one that isn't stock? I'd think they would know what to look for on a civic or some of the other common imports but I have to think our cars are rare enough that they won't know a Volant from the stock box.

You can search the CARB site as it lists which manufacturer's products are certified.

2005 GTO - CGM, M6 - Chrome lug nuts and tire valve caps; EE Catch Can; Revenge Designs Spoiler; JBA shorties; Tuned by Advanced Dyno; GMM Street
2009 G8 GT - MSM, auto - Chrome lugs, VG Sharkfin

I lived in Calif. and had an Injen intake on my G6. I never had any problems. It's getting caught racing that you run into serious problems if you have mods.
I moved 3 years ago. No longer in the crush of 6 million people in LA county.
    Rest in Peace Charlie!

Default how do bolts and springs help?

I'm the proud owner of a G8 GT and will probably keep this car forever. I just pedderized my G8 but looking to put on some corsairs and the roto-fab.
I would like to do as much as possible without voiding the warranty.

Will changing out those bolts and springs do that?

And what difference does it make to change out the bolts and springs on the intake?

    What do the studs do?

At the year's end I will have 44,000 miles so my warranty will only really last for about 2 years when I hit 100,000 miles. I commute 180 miles a day.

That is why K&N takes so long to get to the market, they are CARB aproved.

Neither the Volant nor the K&N are CARB approved, and neither come with a sticker for under-hood installation to satisfy ur Smog Tech's wary eyes. I have to dig thru my storage unit every 2 years to dig out and RE-install that bogus stock air contraption. And for WHAT? How is there any evap going on when the injectors are turned OFF?1? And what the hell are all those chambers to nowhere gonna do that's a y different than my Volant does? It's total BS, I'm tellin ya!!

srry to resurrect such an old thread, but the subject is 100% on the point...
