GM does not understand what we want. Seems like they live in a vacuum and only offer what THEY assume we want. All they have to do is hang out at a few forums and they could learn from it. Me, I want a Chevy SS with a factory LS7 in it...is that asking too much???

You can ask but I wouldn't hold out any hope to receive. Looking last night there are hundreds of SS's on Autotrader with new 14's below $40,000.00 These things are stuck to the lot like glue. The G8 moved tens of thousands of cars in 2 years (although a bunch of those were at a loss) while they have barely moved 2000 SS's in 2 years. There might be RPO's that indicate a 2016 model year but I'm not holding my breath. Its a shame but the sales just do not make much of a case for the bean counters.

Even down under that's a tall order. Only one us car has the ls7 and more and its $80k.
Still better to buy a ss and swap it yourself.

Gm has to make assumptions on the market. Even if they look at all the forms for there products they will see us,camaro, corvette, silverado, and everything in between.
So they will go to g8 nation and see that every one and there brother wants Camaro wheels on there g8 and that's all we would get.
Corvette they will see people making them drag cars and kill the best track type car in the lineup.
Camaro they will see broke ass people buying v6 cars and adding stickers.
And look at cruze and see people who want better fuel milage.

This will go on and on and on.

I learned along time ago you have to make what you want and learn how to do it the cheapest. But gm don't make it easy.

    Examples.
Colorado with a diesel engine. Yes it's on it was but I drove one in 2012. Why the f wasn't it here in 12?
Diesel Toyota hilex. The truck as been sold like this for 20 years!!! (not gm but you get my point)
Voxel insignia. Turbo v6 awd 6 speed manual. We get 2.0 turbo auto! Why? "because Buick customers don't like engine noise and shifting gears"

Here's an idea for gm. Let's be more like vw and Honda who are both very successful companies and offer a wide range of cars and options in the classes they offer.
I agree we don't need the same car sold as a Chevy, Pontiac, Buick, Saturn, Cadillac and so on. Offer in one or two names with different types of trim like the other names were ment for. Buick gets old people stuff and no performance. Chevy gets a base, mid range model as well as there ss line witch should actually mean something with options!

But your right I also agree you should be able to order what you want if you buy new.

Walk in and say I want a naked corvette with a turbo ready lsx 427 and a dog box in black. Go get it done.
