    Default Gas Tank Vent Issue?

I'm not sure this is the right place to post this but I've got a problem and wonder if anyone has seen this:

The last few times I've filled up my tank, I can't get the gas to go into it initially and it acts like there is an obstruction. I put the gas cap back on, crank it, shut down, take the cap off and then it will fill OK. I mentioned it to Rick and he thought it might be a vent problem so yesterday I went to fill it up, it wouldn't take the gas again and it appears to be venting air from inside the tank to the outside through the fill tube. I let it sit to equalize and then it filled just fine. Any idea what's going on here? Is it an issue with the gas cap itself?

Dawg! Not what I wanted to hear. Any idea how to replace it?

Thanks for the feedback! I'll take a look at a shop manual and see if I can figure it out. Mine's way out of warranty!
