Welcome to the forum. I live in Clear Lake. Bought my Black 2009 G8 GT on October from San Antonio and tried to find out its past on here also. No luck yet. It has Kooks LTH with catted x pipe and Magnaflow, Vararam, and a tune (DOD deleted with tune I am guessing). Been going to a couple car meets (Home Depot in Kemah on Saturday evening and the LSXforce meets) and you could hear what mine sounds like if you want - no cam.
Kooks LT Headers, Kooks catted, X-pipe 3", Magnaflow axle backs, Vararam, Henderson Performance tune, black powder coated wheels, j-pipes
Well, I took it to get tuned on a dyno this past weekend, and it definitely has a cam. Patrick G said the engine tune was pretty close already, but he made some slight changes and gained me about 5 HP and a little more torque. The interesting part is that my TCM was apparently running a tune designed for a higher-stall converter, but I currently have a stock converter. This explains an issue I was having with the car wanting to surge forward when coming to a stop and downshifting. I don't know if this means the first owner put the stall in and the second owner had it removed, or maybe one of the previous owners blew up the transmission and had it replaced. Either way, whoever did the work then neglected to flash the TCM back to stock. Now the surging issue is gone, and Patrick did a lot of massaging to the shift behavior. I'm pretty happy with it so far.
