    I had them change mine (for the second time) in the summer and haven't had any issues this winter. I wash the car almost daily in the winter so was assuming that I was just going to have to deal with it. Luckily it's been fine.

    The problem is that the cable is below the latch. That allows water to travel down the cable and freeze. The TSB list that the cable is to be re-routed to make it more level and not allow water to settle in the cable.

    well a day in the heated parking garage helped. a little nudge and she locked down. May still take it in and complain.

    Same thing happened to me, but I live in Southern California. The cable rusted through about a foot from the latch.
