245/40-19. What's the widest wheel I can use?

Hey y'all,
I've been looking at some wheels lately and wanted to stick with my same tires seeing as I just bought new tires a month ago. I was wondering how wide I could go on the rears and be safe. I'm sure this has been covered before so I am sorry to bring it up again.

I too would also like to know how wide a wheel can be, I have my stock 19 tires that I want to transfer over to 8/9.5 wheels. But I guessing that 8.5, would be the widest you would want to go. I don't know if a 9.0 will seal up properly?

You can stretch 245's onto a 9.5" wide wheel.

I believe GMan1227's rears are exactly that.

I wouldn't go wider than 9". I've got the stock 245's on CTS-V 19 x 9 rims and it's right at the edge of what I'd do albeit nowhere near that pic above. Come time for new tires I'm going 255-40.
