    Default 2007 Ford Escape throttle sticking

    Charlie;
    Karen's throttle sticks when it's cold. It does it mostly from a stop, it grabs and you have to put a little pressure to get it past idle. It also feels like that when you are cruising. Once you get by that little "catch" everything is normal.
    Doesn't seem to do it after the car is completely warmed up.
    Rest in Peace Charlie!

    When looking stuff up on the escape below I notced there is a lot of complaints about that issue Ray. Not sure on a fix though other than a new throttle body as many people reported replacing the cable and it made no difference.

    Some said it was so bad they were afraid to drive the vehicle as they could barely unstick it.

    If it had a throttle cable, remove air intake tubing to TB and open throtlle plate and clean TB with a TB cleaner. Very common. If it is drive-by-wire same thing but have some one push gas pedal to floor. When going to start if you sprayed a lot into intake, hold pedal to floor (after it is all put back together) and crank until it clears out. Holding pedal to floor turns injectors off so it wont flood worse.

    Thanks Charlie. It's a cable type. Ford dealer wouldn't even tell me if there was a TSB. Only asked me if it was out of warranty and that I would have to pay.
    BTW, this is also a 4 cyl.
    Rest in Peace Charlie!
