I am amazed at the lunacy of some people.

That is stupid.

Look closely. He did not do it on a highway or freeway. He did it on a street. At :29 you can see a crosswalk and at :32 you can see a gas station. Also he had no seat belt but that wouldn't have helped him.

Very dumb IMHO.

But that is a nice top speed. No use for it though.

Moron. I know how to spot 'em cos I used to be one. Maybe not 160 on a public road, of course. Unbelievably stupid.

I highly doubt that was on a regular road...

My car could do 200 mph and I would never see it. I have NO desire to go top speed. Now, if my car went 200 mph in the 1/4 mile...that would be a different story. :D

crazy

edit: just read his post he was going down 281.... i've been down that road and definately would NOT go even 140 on it. Portions are not as smooth as some highways.

That type of shit should be removed. It only causes other idiots to try and top it and put more people's lives at risk.

First another dumbass is documented, second the car sounds like the shuttle lifting off, third, either that road surface was pisspoor or his suspension really sucks or a combination of both. If a car, dog, cat, pedistrian had crossed his path he would have been in deep shit. Keep it on a track please.

You know...

I've always been an aggressive driver. There, I said it. It's dangerous as hell on many an occasion and I look back afterward and wonder what I was thinking. The blood gets up for whatever reason and the stupid rolls right in behind it in spades. Such is my weakness.

That said, to date the worst mishaps I've been involved in happened at less than 40mph. I'm not talking about simple fender-benders and would prefer to leave it at that.

Then there's driving like I see in this video. It makes me want to shake the stuffing out of someone. That's a business / residential area for Christ's sake, I don't care what time day or night that took place. The pavement conditions are obviously less than ideal. It's a wonder the guy didn't kill himself let alone anyone else.

Sure, maybe I should just buy a four-banger Accord and be done with it but I was raised around fast cars and the siren will always call. People just need to remember the forces they're dealing with when they're behind the wheel. The physics are not your friend.

That didn't look like it was doing a 164mph to me... I've been up in that range several times and I don't recall passing things on the side of the road quite as slow as that, but then again I'm almost 30 so everything does slow down for me now LOL

And NO I was not in a residential area it was on a closed section of highway.

I second the notion that it doesn't look like 160+ mph. Maybe I am a dork, but I watched it all the way through and I couldn't clearly make out the MPH for certain. Is it possible that he had the speedo set to KPH, and due to the bouncing around and distance that he was acutally only doing 160+ kph??

I don't think it was in km/h. The km/h light is a little higher up on the speedo, between 120 and 140:

In the video, the light is between 140 and 160.

Also, the G8 accelerates from 150 km/h to 164 km/h much faster than in that video.

This is correct.

I'd post my speedo pic of 153 to show the same thing, but I don't want anyone to cry.

Someone here posted a similar video in the lounge area once, he was on a 5 mile stretch with no cross roads and he was also going somewhere around 163 or 164. That one also started controversy but looked a lot safer, there was no bouncing around at all.

the actual speed in the video doesn't look to be half of 164 mph
