I am asking this question because I was talking to a guy who owns a V6 G8 without the dual zone, and the base style head unit (non 6 disc).

He said when he would remote start his car it wont turn on the heat or air like it does in the V8's with the dual climate control.

Is this a fluke? or are all V6's like this?

V6'ers please chime in

I think it works only with the dual climate controls no matter if it is a 6 or 8.

If thats the case that's stupid, no use for remote start on non dual climate vehicles. Even if you leave the heat or air on when he shuts the car off, the heat or air turns off too. So when you start the car the only thing that will turn on is the engine...

I believe I read somewhere that only the duel climate control cars have that feature with the remote start.

There has to be a hack for this, anyone know of one?

it mentions it in the manual. you have to have all the automatic climate controls, inorder for the hvac to come on when using the remote start. not so much the dual zone, that's just a feature of the automatic system.

I have a V6 with the base stereo, also. No heat or air until you put the key in the ignition. Its a bummer, but at least you can start the car and the t'stat will be open when you get in. You don't have to wait as long to get heat. Tough luck on the AC though.

the "premium" climate control" on a V6 WILL turn on with remote start BUT to factory preset mode depending on temp NOT the mode you leave it on

Exactly what they said won't come on with single air zone
