Just one simple question! Does anybody have a G8 that does not have a steering wheel shake at 80-100KM.
I know there are tons of threads on this issue but I was just curious if this is just a issue with some G8's or do they all have the defect!!!!!!!!1

I believe it is a drive shaft support bearing issue. From what I have seen in the bulletins, GM is working on a solution.

its not a shake really... more of a pulsating vibration.

The only vibration I ever feel is caused by the road or AFM.

Never noticed it on mine. I feel AFM when it kicks in, but that's about it.

Some seem to have it, some don't. Mine is better....for now. After several trips to the dealership it is still there. The dealer has just removed all the other vibrations and narrowed it down to the drive train.

yea, I know mine isnt the tires or wheels. Also, I had my drive shaft re-indexed and that changed the feeling a bit which tells me that is the problem.

But GM is working on a fix for it... until then, it is really not that bothersome.

Is this only applicable to the V8 models or does it also affect the V6? Thanks

Mine had the steering wheel shimmy. Dealer road force balanced the wheels, and for now that has fixed the issue.

I'm in the same boat. I hope they get a fix soon.

I do not have the shake in mine, I also don't have the issues of the creaks and moans from the front suspension. Hopefully these issues won't start up.

shake comes and goes in my G8 GT. Mostly a few minutes after starting drive, then hit or miss.
look forward to knowing when GM plans to fix the shake issue.

Mine is a V6 and I do have the steering wheel shake. I have under 2000 km (1200 miles) on the car and it has shaken since day 1. Had it in to the Dealership and they rebalanced all 4 tires - still shakes but at different speeds now. My next step will be to have them Road Force balance all 4.:Canada:

Since you have the M6 I wonder if you issue is like mine. If or when you have time, get on a road where you can go at least 70 to 75 mph. See if you start to notice the shake at 55 mph that gradually gets worse and becomes very noticeable at 70 mph. Also, see if it shakes a little worse when you let off the gas at those speeds.

Moderate shake in the 65-85mph range.

Aftermarket tires (second set on the rear ;)), so I don't blame them.

Every great once in a while I get a small shake from the steering wheel. But it's very speed sensitive. If I speed up or slow down more than 2mph or so it goes away.

I get the shakes at around 105km/h. Not that bad but it does vary from one ride to another and disappears around 115. It's done it since it was new. Took it in after a couple of weeks to have the wheels balanced, but that didn't help very much.
