This has been posted on some other forums, but wanted to share it here in case some of our members have not heard of it.

XM is offering a deal for $3.99 a month for 5 months or $77 a year.

Usually you are offered it when you cancel and they will email you an offer or they will start calling you. I cancelled last month and got the email for the $77, but did not take it. They called (been calling for a while, but I did not answer the 1-888 number) tonight and I was offered the following:

3.99 a month for 5 months. They also offered the 77 per year. So for a total of 23.05 including royalty fee (as mandated by the government), I have it for 5 months. I will mark on my calender to cancel again when that time comes up, and do it all over again for whatever they are offering then. They also offered instead of it automatically going back to the regular rate that I could sign up for 1 year (2 payments of 82.12), 2 years (4 payments of 70.62), or 3 years (5 payments of 80.48). I signed up for the 3 years, but like I stated above, will cancel before that happens.

Some people have had success by calling them up and threaten to cancel and being offered it and if not asking for the promo.

Initially I thought after my trial period I would just not renew it, but now XM is just about all I listen to. I'll probably end up doing the 5 month thing after mine runs out. One of my wife's co-workers was offered the 3.99/mo deal after hers expired too.

I have the 5 month for $3.99 deal. They will also offer a free month of XM or will take one month off your billing cycle if you automatically add the credit card to bill the next cycle to. What they arn't supposed to tell you is that if they take off the month it is credited at the full rate of $13.99. I got 5 months for $7.04 after the "free month". I called after they billed my credit card and took it off the reoccurring charge. Just a quick FYI to help some of you out.

I already had a credit card on file, bummer. He didn't even mention the one month for free.

I have XM in two vehicles. When my truck subscription was about to expire I received the renew materials in the mail. I called them and told them I wanted to cancel. They were willing to negotiate but I had to play hardball. Final deal I renewed the truck for $55 for a year and the G8 extended for $77 for a year following the free period.

The bottom line is we are in an economic slump. XM/Sirius would rather have you as a customer at a discount than not at all. They will deal... and if they don't, keep your money.
