View Full Version : Another Vararam question

Charlie:

Good morning.

So I got the Vararam on last night and I am completely stoked by the difference it makes in the car.

My problem (and I know other's have raised this): the MAF sensor cable is not just snug; it is very tight. How big a concern is this? Should this be corrected; I have to think that, with no play at all, as the car continues down the road (over bumps and undulations in the roads) this could become an issue.

Your input is appreciated.

Yes, it should be corrected. As I have not fiddled with that stuff yet, I don't know if there's more length to get from the stock wires or if you should get an extender, but it should not be left how you describe it.

You could always get the HSRK.

DownTown has extensions(member here) or once you install a HSRK there will be plenty of slack. Getting ready for coach eh. :)

You should be able to unwrap some of the tape on the maf wire to give it a little more length. HSRK is the way to go thou.

HSRK is the way to go thou.There is PLENTY of slack to get from unwrapping the tape and separating it from the rest of the wires there. An extender is not necessary, however the HSRK is beneficial in other ways.

Get a HSRK from Vector it's worth the coin and it'll take care of your issue

I think he has big plans for his car while hes gone... you might need more then that. :secret:

Talked to Patrick at Vararam. Went out at lunch and fooled with it and got some play in the cable. It's good enough now until I add the HSRK.

Dont know yet. I wont get out of here until 6 and Saturday is our busiest day. After being in the heat all day I long for a/c and ice tea. :)

This is what I did until I got my HSRK and then I had to wrap some back up.
