Gates K060747. Vector has said it does not affect the tune.

want one of these also. Car doesn't have to be tuned for it to get the most out of it right? Does this make a noticeable difference?

It definately should not effect the tune. We use a dayco 5060780, and include these in our packages we have on special right now. It is definately a noticeable difference... probably the best $200 out there for these cars. And for 200 its balancer, bolt, and belt :D

I was going to order this but I can't find it on your web site.

I will see about rick putting the package on the site. I will be 100% honest, it didn't even cross my mind to do that... :pinch:

Are you saying this part number is wrong? Its spinning quite nicely on my car....

nope, the number PB gave me only works on SOME G8's, not all... the one you have is the more common of the 2 from what they are telling me...

That's odd, thought we were all the same...

We are good Tom. Andy got some bad info and I really take the blame. I saw you post the # I gave you months back and didn't even think to give it to Andy since I knew 100% for sure that it was the right #. My apologies to anyone that was inconvenienced.

I am trying to figure that out. We installed one not too long ago and it took the 5060780, but rob's needed the same blet you have... Obviously GM changed something... we just need to find out what.

So, do i have the right one?

Mine seems to be working fine with the 60750 belt that was installed. Assume it is probably within a 1/4 - 1/2 inch of the 60747. ???????? The belt my installer used is from Carquest, but is a Gates belt.

It appears to be a question that can't be answered until install is attempted. However it's a safe bet it is NOT the correct one. Let me know if you need to to get you the other one...

Did I ge the correct belt ??? My package arrived last night bit I haven't gotten a chance to open it.

Technically I cant give you the 100% answer on that... However more then likely not... I am still waiting to hear back from PB about how to tell before hand what car needs what belt... But they said less then 10% of US bound G8's use the long 780 belt.

Give me the stock belt number on your car and I can look to see what you need based off of that...

I don't know of any belt changes. GM only calls for one belt for the 6.0L engine in 2008 and 2009 and that is the same one for the 2009 6.2L LS3 also.

Andy@Livernois
09-25-2008, 07:51 AM
It isn't on our site, but it is a special I am running for 200 w/ a stock GM bolt and the CORRECT belt, and 220 w/ ARP bolt.

Greg, I will try to get you the VIN for the car we installed that took the long belt...

Please do. I will try and find the part that changed.
