I saw a 427 cid based on the L92 6.2 liter block at :
http://www.sdparts.com/product/SDSL92427FT/427ciL92ElToroGrandeShortBlockAssemblywFlatTopPist ons8cc.aspx

I'm wondering how many of the stock L76 parts will swap. I know the L92 heads and the L76 intake will work. What about the reluctor wheel (S-D says 24x reluctor wheel for this engine) harmonic balancer, flexplate/flywheel, knock sensors, cam sensors, oil pan, oil pump, water pump, etc.?
If I can swap over most of the parts from the L76 I'm going to do this swap.
With the right cam and exhaust this engine should be a beast.
Any cam recommendations?

You need a 58x reluctor which is on the crank and internal. This must be done while engine is being assembled or it wont start. Everything else is a swap over.

You need the 58x crank reluctor version.

If you're fitting an aftermarket 3 bolt cam then you'll need a 4 lump, 3 bolt cam gear and bolts like this. Get the black cam chain damper as well.

All the other parts from your L76 will swap straight over.
(Ditch your old DOD gear and get new lifters and LS2 valley plate, valve springs etc).

From what I heard, I guess my cam setup wasn't fast enough for ya.

VegasNate, how is the transmission doing with all that power? Right now I have a maggie making 440rwhp. I'd like to crank it up a little more though. Does the transmission seem to be tolerating all that power?

The tranny is doing great. I think on street tires it will be fine. The thing that I'm concerned about is at the track when I use tires that actually hook well. I'm not getting any wheel hop at all so that's a plus too.

No, my car was built and tuned at Leading Edge Performance. Are you talking about TPE Jeff?

I am familiar with Jeff and the shop he works through, but I had my car tuned by Alan Futral at Futral Motorsports in Walker, LA.

I watched the dyno video of your car again Nate. That thing looks insane! It really looked like it blew the tires off through 2nd gear in the latter portion of the video. My car is nowhere near that violent. I'm making over 100rwhp less than you though! That 2300 must be a bad son-of-a-gun.

Yeah, it's a blast to drive. I'm going to write up a review soon and try to describe how it feels. (Like warm apple pie!)

OH OK! Hell man Alan built my GTP's 3800 I had before my G8.
That was during Katrina. My original crank was lost during Katrina where he had sent it to New Orleans. My Grand Prix stayed at his shop for like 6 months because of that whole mess. I was actually going to call him this week and see what he would charge me to put on my LT's..
Alan does damn good work.
Shit one day I will ride down we will have to meet up I wanna see yours with that FI. I got family in prarieville..

Back to the original question...almost everything can swap over but you'd be better off retrofitting somethings while upgrading others. I like the displacement route over the big cam... but then again everyone knows I hate lope lol

I'm not sure if you have answered this before but did you swap in a LS3 block to the L76 top end?

No, never said what I ended up doing. But I did aim for that originally, and have done something similar for another customer. Used a LS3 block with a 4.000 crank and the other L76 equiptment
