I was scanning today and included relative throttle position. AT WOT it topped out at 77%. Anybody else see this?

Never checked. Interesting result though. Don't think anything can be done though, there's no adjustment, its "drive by wire".

It just struck me as odd too. I guess I will look at absolute postion and see what that is.

I read that when the ford shelby gt500 came out it did the same thing. It would only open 75%. You would have to put X amount of mile on the motor before it would go 100%. I think it was to protect the motor somehow. They are also "drive by wire".

VMS told me there are a few different throttle position PIDs to choose from. One is something like percent above idle. I had the wrong PID.

My G6 was the same way, as G8V8 said there are a few different TPS PIDs.

Yes I remember reading posts all over the internet from some guy with a TBSS going ape about how his 90mm ETB only opened 88%.
He was going off whatever his scanner was telling him.
I think all the noise stopped when Mr TBSS either got the correct software or actually looked at his throttle blade.

:okay:

You have 3 pedal position sensors on some cars and at least 1 TPS. Knowing which one your reading is usually a good thing. lol

I only have 2. Stopped and WOT. :D

In the old days when your foot was connected to the carb with wires and rods, I noticed that my floor mats where keeping me from going WOT! How's that for root cause analysis???

Anyway, with DBW, I'm not sure if this is a problem or not, but where the pedal comes to a rest ie. on the carpet, it might make a difference.

the pedal will have several position sensors as well as the tb. redundant=safe.
relative position is an assumed sum of the total sensors input.so is absolute.
some etc systems have sensors that start at lets say 5 volts and 1 volt, as the pedal is pushed one goes low as the other one goes high the ecm then displays an average or"relative' position.

You need to check absolute throttle position. not relative,

I was working on my pedal feel issue and was comparing throttle positions between the DashHask and the DIC. WOT position DIC reads 99.6 and DashHawk 77%. Is there an paramater I should switch to to get a comparable reading on the DashHawk. Thanks in advance for any information.

Are you using Absolute TPS on Dashhawk?

I think there are 4 throttle positions.

3. One is dodge specific.

i believe the one you want is Absolute Throttle position.

I had to cut a chunk out of my winter rubber floor mats because they were stopping my WOT.

^ Don't you hate that?

I always have problems w/ the floorboard not letting me go WOT! :woohoo:

HPTuners i'm assuming? Look for the ETC pid (electronic throttle control) not the TPS.

LOL! I think I will have the same two!

I know that HPTuners are currently working on a beta to add new throttle opening rates for the E40/38/67 ECM's the idea is "to improve driveability by making the throttle less responsive at lower RPM's".

I've checked the beta, won't help us, ours goes straight to 100%...
