was driving in my parents neighborhood the other day and saw a liquid red G8 Sedan with 1ST G8 on the license plate. I stopped to talk to her, inquired about the license plate and she said it was the very first G8 to come to the states from Australia, I guess for consumer use. Anyway to verify that?

VIN I suppose... if it ends in 0001 or whatever...

edit: hey, do you have the last 8 of your first GXP VIN? I was curious to see if it shows warranty block/ title branding.

I've read that the 1st one was a LR V6.

I found this article talking about the first shipment of G8's coming to the US. There were 1800 on that initial shipment, half of them being GT's. I guess it's possible that hers was the first one they took off the ship, but I don't even know how she would know that.

i just ran the GMVIS on eyemuffs first GXP. it shows as salvaged/junk. It was me being curious more than anything. and that new thread about finding a 09.5 totalled cars onstar box renewed my interest.[/hijack]

+1 and i think they gave it way at a nascar event or something like that

I think that was #888 that they gave away.

It was, it was VIN # 988888 that was given away, so it's entirely possible she's got one of the first 888s to hit the shores.
