Thoughts. comments, input please

When i bought my HID kit for the fog lights, i was given this performance chip for freeit's from performance chips direct.
it is a plug and play surge chip that plugs in to the IAT
it's supposedly used for HP if you turn it to the max power location, or to save Fuel if you turn it to the low location
my question is, has anyone ever used one of these? if so, are there any side effects to using it?
would you recommend using this?

Basically just causes it to lean out some by fooling it with phony IAT readings. Not sure how productive those things are, but I have heard of them.

I would toss it. Right now. I've heard horror stories about those plug and play chips tearing engines apart. They were basically stuck with a trashed car and, Oh, whats that? The Warranty is void? Congrats on your new pile of parts...

But in all seriousness I would be vary VARY cautious with it.

thats exactly what my bro told me too, it was free, so i thought i'd ask, they sell for $100 at the place i got my HID's from
maybe i'll throw it up on craigslist or ebay

Be careful with things that are free. I would also toss it in the trash.

I never had plans on hooking it up, just curioous...i plan on selling...........
