Purchasing the G8
What made you decide on the G8 in general?
Overall performance, looks,4 doors and a big trunk. Two things the GTs and GTOs didn’t have.
Why did you pick the color & options you did?
Black is one of my favorite car colors. I got the premium package and since I’m not a sun roof person why spend the extra money on something you’ll never use.
Agreed - (on both!) my last vehicle had a sunroof too and I think I opened it twice for as long as I had the car! Looking back would you have picked differently?
I think about this every now and then. The 05 GTO already had a cat back and body kit…Looked real sharp and sounded real good. And for 18k a steal IMO but I’m very happy with my car and the room. Kids and car seats need room as do golf clubs(you can get four bags in the trunk and for grown men and a cooler of beer in a G8)

Dealership and Service
What dealership did you purchase your Pontiac G8 from?
Anchor Pontiac and MD
How was your dealership experience?
Very easy I sent out some requests and was about to give up then Fred emailed me.
I bought a 02 Tahoe from him years back and I didn’t have to haggle with him.
Where do you service your G8 and how is that experience?
My garage….
And I doubt we’ll hear about any negative service experiences there http://grrrr8.net/home/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

Modifications
Have you done anything to modify the car looks wise?
20% tint and I wash it unlike George.
Have you done anything to modify the car performance wise?
VMS 93 tune, Kooks 1 3/4LT header w/cats, Vararam, Ported TB, Catch Can(is that really a mod??), BMR trailing arms, BMR tunnel brace
Heck, some people call debadging a mod so whatever works! What are you planning next for the car as far as mods go?
Stage1 cam either Livernois or Vector, I’d like to do the heads while they have them off. 3.27 diff, brake upgrade, and cash willing a Maggie(If I do this guess I’ll need the 1 7/8 kooks)

Closing Thoughts
Any dislikes about your car?
It’s not fast enough yet.. The paint is weak at best but that seems to be the norm these days. My Avalanche and my wife’s RX have the same problems with chipping.
If you’re like me, you’ll get used to however fast it is and keep wanting to mod it so watch out! So what are some of your Favorite features about the Pontiac G8?
RWD V8, overall roominess I’m not a small guy by any means

What would you tell anyone who might be considering buying a G8 ?
Buy it!!!! This is by far the best reasonably price American sports sedan ever produced( Even if it came from down under)
Amen to that!

Not so fast , Mr "I wash my car".

I pulled my system apart to build one at the restaurant, but I have all the parts and the fridge is in the basement...

This is what it looked like before:

I'm trying to decide whether to put this back together, or get a chest freezer and a thermo control and build a new one.

Yes.. I just blanched and bagged 8 bags of beans for the freezer.
I have a Kentucky Wonder recipe that involves bacon drippings.
I just have to make another pound of bacon so I can harvest the drippings, and yes it's good. My grandmother on my dads side was a good ole southern cook.

I couldn't decide what to do with the chicken until I saw the bacon in the fridge. So grabbed my filet knife and decided it need some bacon in the middle with a little wrap. I'll probably top it off with a little BBQ sauce and a Guinness to wash it down

After I let you make a pass in my car.......you have to have my daughter and I over for dinner or lunch. And if I drink too much she'll get to drive the G8 home.

That would be fine.....I know what you mean about not getting a plate...I made some pasta salad last week and didn't even get a bowl. I had to settle for a turkey sandwich.
