I met a 427 owner yesterday.
His advice was that the OEM OTR is pretty poor air flow wise, in comparison to many of the after market units. (the OTR has a limited openning rather than the full open set up of the after market systems)

The Vauxhaul VXR8 is a rebadged HSV Clubsport R8.
They did have the LS2 engine up until April or so 2008, now they have LS3.
So they never had the same engine as the G8.

If you wonder why an LS3 VXR8 has a reported HP number larger than an LS3 GXP....then part of that is because UK reporters use metric HP. It may also have a different factory tune installed.
1 horsepower [metric] = 0.98632007271 horsepower [international]

And when they say 35 grand they are talking about UK Pounds.
35,000.00 GBP = 51,038.64 USD

I think the black is an optical contusion. If you look closely I thnk you can make out the silver trim around the HVAC buttons. The silver trim is indicative of the 'rado silver pieces.

That would be a big 0 with HSV owners.

You might find some Holden guys willing to do a swap though.
Here the Pontiac front would have kind of a novelty value because although we see a VE Holden every 100 metres there are almost nil newish Pontiacs here.

In my city of 1.5 million people I now know of only 3 Pontiac G8's. I've only seen 1 of those. The people who sell the aftermarket G8 type vented hood to fit the VE Holden here have only sold about 7 or 8 in my city.

Please for the love of God, do NOT do anything smart and ship these cars to the United States. It would show that GM would have its head out of its ASS. After seeing these pictures the top management of GM needs to go! Nothing like this would ever sell in the United States. Give me such cars as the FWD Lucerne and LaCrosse and that fine FWD Impalla. Why think that you could compete and win against the G-35/37, IS 250/300, BMW 3 and 5 seriesnot to mention the Acura. God forbid such thoughts in Detroit. No.
HSV require the parts dealer to provide them with a valid VIN and build number for a genuine W427 before any W427 parts are released. It's been known that they sometimes require even further proof that the parts are genuinely required for fitment on a W427.

The list of parts required just to fit VE HSV tail lights is huge.
eg:
Not including the rear trunklid spoiler for a lesser model (such as GTS or Clubsport) the cost would be around double that of doing an HSV front fasia conversion.

I was standing right beside a W427 yesterday and could have had a look for you. Judging from the pics there's very minimal room inside the W427 20's for caliper clearance.

No, this is a very limited edition car....only something like 150 made. There are also very heavy restrictions placed by the Manufacturer on the supply of W427 parts. There is only a microscopic chance of ever being able to buy any W427 specific part.

From the start they said they were never going to build more than 427 of them.
Then they reduced that goal to 200.
The final figure built was something like 140 & not all of them have been sold.
The build numbers were non-sequential and whored out to some extent.
You could ask that your car (eg: the fourteenth to roll off the production line) be badged as No 55 .

CP. I was also looking at the new E2 series on HSVs web site. Man, you people in OZ have it made with your performance cars! The new Camaro does not hold a candle to what you have down under. I like the LEDs above the fog in the bumper, hell I like everything about the car. I have got to talk the wifey into a trip to OZ.

No chance.
HSV rear bumper is one piece from halfway up their tail-lights (different tails to G8) to the bottom of the diffuser.
