Houston G8 Meet - Aug 29th Sat @ 6pm

Just another reminder of the monthly G8 meet, as usual on the last Saturday of every month.

Date: August 29th Saturday
Time: 6pm
Location: Behind Hooter's (I45 & Nasa Road 1)

So here is what I digged up about this location. It is open to the public, meaning we can show up and hang out. Someone does put up cones to block off traffic from coming through the car show area of the parking lot, so there must be some organization for the gathering. It typically starts up at around 7pm, so it might be a good idea for us to roll up together so you can park next to each other at around 6-ish. Maybe someone can setup a meeting point before rolling up so you guys can be together for parking - just in case.

Unfortunately I will not be able to make this gathering, so PLEASE take lots of pics. LastMohican, looking forward to a nice video too :)

If we need a "central" location, we could always default to the location of the old Saturday night Uptown Meet: the Starbucks at Westheimer and Post Oak. It's still kind of "car" venue; if you roll in there on a Saturday night, you'll inevitably see some nice rides.

Regardless of the location; I'll be filming again with the intent to post one of my spellbinding "Speilberg-quality" videos. An ongoing staple of these meet videos will be "interviews" with all the attendees and owners, so you cats get ready to yammer for the camera's! (Like that should be a problem!)

Then, for those of us who want to, we need to arrange some post-meet entertainment (I think you know what I mean!).

I say, let's head back to the Westheimer meet and...

Don't forget that you guys are welcome anytime to set up a BBQ/ Dyno Day again here at ICON Autosports. I'm sure a lot of you have more mods than the last time you were here and would like to see what your G8 puts down now. It would be a great help though if someone on the board took over the food and drinks and leave the dyno pulls for us to handle. That way we can focus more on getting cars in and strapped down. Just let me know ahead of time so we can check with everyone at the shop.

From my house to your shop it's 1155 miles. I assumed 28.5 mpg which my G8 easily attains. If you would put my cam in, I'd seriously consider taking a vacation and driving down.

It was cool having a variety of cars, but it did spread us out. I agree on G8 meets being just that...G8s only. If other cars stop by thats fine, but pick a place that is for us.

Nope...we were thinkin about it but then decided not to since we were way out there on Nasa Rd 1....but that's another reason why Franks is a good location...Westheimer is close by

This is nothing new for these guys. There was a regular Saturday night meet at this location for several months.

There's plenty of room and and it's easy to get to.
