Had about 25 G8's out on a beautiful Texas afternoon.
I'm lame with names the first couple of times I meet people, character flaw, however a minor one. :D
I would really like to thank Charlie who gave me a quick schooling on the G8's, and now at the track or someplace else, maybe I can take what he taught me and help out others. Just like HRJ did with my GTO, he taught me a lot and I passed it down to others. Charlie taught me all about the engineering mode, and it may be nothing to him to take a few minutes aside, but it meant a lot to me and I deeply appreciate it. I knew there was an engineering mode in the system somewhere (like my GTO had) and it would be hard to find, but it only took him about 30 seconds to show me how it works. He also taught me how to keep the car from going into 4th at the track, nothing to it. We read about these things, but sometimes we just need a mentor to take a few minutes aside to put what we read about in real world situations.
Now where are those pics at, need proof I was hanging out with some fellow G8 owners and not getting a lap dance somewhere. ___________ :D :D :D
Looking forward to the next one.

Outside of a cam, your mods almost mirror the mods I had on my GTO. All you need is a good set of drag radials and a 12.2 or better is yours for the taking. Just let us know when you are heading for the track (Houston Raceway Park I hope) and I am sure you will have some of us out there helping out anyway we can. What we need is one Sunday afternoon in November or December (hopefully a day with a good negative DA) and have a bunch of G8's running, all of us working together to coach those who aren't comfortable running their cars, or just need a little help here or there. Could be for a real fun day.

I would definitely like to come down to Texas (even though it is a small hike). I've heard about some negative DA on some Texas track during the cooler temps.
I'm up in Michigan, but if you guys plan a track / dragstrip rental there is a chance I could come down. With 25 G8's at a meet, I'm sure you guys could get a good turn out for a rental.

If you were getting a lap dance from Charlie, we really don't need to see the pics...
Seriously, not at all...

It starts at that time and most will stick around for a couple of hours, then it starts to fall out with other obligations and such to attend to. We had one guy show up at 9:30pm, and he got a glimpse of 8 G8's and a C-SS.
Show up when you can.
