Under 25 is a killer on Insurance...If you got points then it really gets bad. $1200.00 every 6 months with no tickets is about right. If your on someone else policy then it is different such has your parents or so forth. I am over 50 no points 3 cars with collision 2 with just liability cost me around 800.00 every 6 months but it goes down each year for collision on the 3 because of the years..A

My insurance company does not consider the G8GT a performance car, so no upcharge!

Here's the limits I have...TWENTY times greater than required by the state: 500,000/1,000,000/500,000 Liability, 100,000/300,000/50,000 Uninsured/Underinsured motorist, $5000 PIP, Deductibles: $250 Comp, $500 Collision $75 towing with Emergency Roadside Assistance.

$317.94 PER SIX MONTHS and that is with my daughters at fault accident that paid out $123,617! TOTAL POLICY PREMIUM FOR SIX MONTHS IS $569.50...THREE CARS.

53, married, multi-car discount, auto/home discount, excellent credit rating, all of which you need to have to get your best rate.

In Texas I represent sixteen auto insurance companies and twelve homeowner companies. I am an independent insurance agent and I am married to none of them...they all pay me the same commission rate. I DON'T GET A SPECIAL RATE BECAUSE I'M AM AGENT. I GET THE RATE YOU GET. Email me a copy of your dec pages and some contact info and I'll see if I can save you Texas folks some money. That is the purpose of this thread, right...to save some money?

holy crap.

27 here, and I pay $588 every 6 months w/ Allstate.

That's exactly what I was paying but now with State Farm it's only $480. I save almost $500 bucks a year by switching to them to insure two cars. The main reason I switched is because I got screwed on the 5% hurricane deductible. SF only requires a 2%. I wished I would have switched a long time ago!

I'm 23. Pay $950/6 months on a TrailBlazer SS. The G8 GT quote was $1050. Full coverage, $500 deductible, Geico. I had a 97 MPH ticket in a 55 MPH zone on my bike 4 or 5 years ago and a recent accident. I'm happy with anything below $200 a month. I was paying over $250 not too long ago.

How are you guys getting such low rates? I pay $1900 every 6 months for 2 vehicles (2009 G8 GT, 2007 Sierra). No tickets, claims or accidents. I just got my recent bill yesterday and remembered this thread. I had to come back to see if I was reading correctly.

I tried Geico and they wanted $2276 for the same policy I have now.

So what is the secret to these low rates? Am I reading this right? I see many say for less than $600 for "6" months.

The more I read this thread the more I cry.

No no.. I don't own a G8 yet LOL. I pay 950/6 months for the TBSS. If/when I switch to a G8 GT it will be 1050/6 months. The ticket probably has little significance anymore. I was surprised how little effect the accident had though.

I've found that it all depends on your situation. I'm no expert, but in my experience, Progressive is very good for people who have recent tickets or anything else. When I bought my Trans Am a year after that speeding ticket, they insured me for like 250 a month when no one else would insure me for under 400 a month.

Geico hooks it up with the TBSS because they don't distinguish between a TBSS and a regular TB. It all depends on which company you go with. When I checked rates for a WRX/STi/impreza, they have rates for each of the three. For an Evo though, it's just listed as lancer for all of them... similar to how my TrailBlazer is. Other companies I checked distinguished between the TBSS and TB. It's really all just a matter of your situation. Shop around. There are sites that offer quotes from multiple insurance companies.

Also found out those shitbags dont give any discount for reaching 30 so Ill be telling there where to shove it when I get back from Afghanistan!! Of course, im getting married in December and that combined with multi car discount should bring me down quite a bit. Going with State Farm when we combine.
