Whats up guys,

This is the new thread to replace the other one. So the weather actually looks very good for Wednesday night Wed is only a 20% chance of rain and that is only in the morning, so the temperature is supposed to get to mid 70's at 6 and then get cooler after that. So track times should be pretty good and it should be a really nice night Too bad its going to rain Tuesday so hopefully its not raining when I get home from work and I can clean the car. If not, be prepared to see a dirty red G8 lol.

I'm planning on being there still. I'll prob head over straight from work. Hope it doesn't rain since my car is half-way presentable at the moment. Gonna have to burn off a bit more fuel in the next day or so :). Would be fun to get some heads up going. Anyone going to have a video cam?

i got a pretty good video camera i could bring.

my G8 looks like i drove thru the amazon jungle lol. and i just filled my tank yesterday :( I forgot but, hopefully the extra weight will help with traction off the line lol

This looks light a great time, to bad it is on a weekday, I have been looking forward to meeting fellow G8 owners, finally saw another G8 on the road last Friday. Hopefully I can make the next meet - not many in the area though. Have a hoot.

No rain in the forecast so it’s a go for tonight! Should be really nice night for racing and getting together. I should be there by 6:15. Traffic is a little crazy trying to get to Rt. 18 from my house.

Well looks like I'll be the first to post my results from this evening. I was looking for an obvious new best but the weather really did not help at all. It was extremely hot and humid. Everyone was much slower than their previous times and or where they should be for the mods. I will say I enjoyed meeting everyone there and that certainly made up for the poor racing conditions. Track prep wasn't bad but wasn't consistent since these were my worst 60' times I've ever done in this car.

Everyone was extremely friendly and I enjoyed BSing with all of you in the pits. You all have beautiful cars.

On to the results:

1st run: (TC On...whoops)
60' - 2.12
1/4 - 13.380@105.14

2nd run: Clean - let it go into 4th
60' - 2.05
1/4 - 13.234@105.84

3rd run: Clean but spun a bit and held third
60' - 2.107
1/4 - 13.259@106.93

This is way off my original times with much less mods but again, I blame this on the weather. If my 60' was a bit better on the last run, I probably could have knocked off a 13.0 but seeing as I was not expecting a new best, I called it after 3 runs.

I'll be going back in the fall when the weather is much better.

I'm sure the other will post their times. There were maybe around 4-5 GT's with a few GXP's thrown in the mix.

i had a great time tonight, the 3 1/2 hour drive in traffic sucked but i had alot of fun my first time ever at the track....!!!! i will post my times and slips tommorow

What was the DA?? Looked like to be between 700-950 on dragtimes DA calc

all i know as i was driving home at 1130 pm i had all my windows down doing 80 mph and i was sweating my ass off......it was so grosse out last night, the whole time i was sweating my ass off, whenever i had to roll the windows up tio race, my windows instantly fogged, i dont mind heat but its the humidity that really sucks

What were the G8 GXP's running? We they all stock ones, or did any of them have mods?

there was a blue gxp a6 that ran a 13.9 and 13.8 it was also his first time at the track.......and a black gxp a6 that ran i believe a 13.38 and a couple 13.4's.......blue was stock, and black has rotofab and borla exhaust no tune

FSTG8 went 12.7 & 12.8 if I am correct in his red supercharged g8 gt. I didn't see everyone's third and final run as I left. I got a run in early before most of the others got there.

I am uploading pictures to the web now. Def great to meet everyone. Thank you to those 6 other G8's that showed up. Def a good time to get together and just talk and see what everyones done. Most G8's I've seen in one place. Come to think of it, we may have had the best representation of a specific model car. Maybe STI's had more but we had more then almost everyone. Next time we should all try and go in together so we can all line up in the lanes together, that would look cool.

But yes, heat and humidity was not kind to us:

Humidity was at 88% and that was at 11 at night when I got home.

Disappointed, was hoping for high 12's but the weather def hurt. Track conditions I thought were not bad at all. If we had elimination racing, I would have loved it because 2 runs car basically ran same time so it would have been great to dial that in.

I will be scheduling another mid to end of August on a Friday night. Also, August 30 I believe is: High Tech Imports vs American Muscle. Only open to first 400 cars. Its from 9 - 7 I believe. They will have payouts and trophies, so def get ready for that as it would be great to take on the imports.

Yup that was me in the passenger seat. His car usually runs mid 12s at full weight on a normal day but was in the high 12s all night. The last run we decided to push the car up to the wall right before you turn to face the race track and he dropped .2's and went 12.7.

I sold my G8 because I wanted to go back to a stick car. I wish a GXP was in my budget but it just isnt at this time so im probably going to end up back in a GTO. That black GXP was really nice with that stripe.

Where on the island do you live? I usually hit up a couple car shows a week but since a spun a bearing in my truck, ive been out of action for a little bit. I should have it back in a couple weeks with some goodies on it.

Yea that was the car. I would have said hi but I was running around since I had a bunch of buddies at the track. A couple vettes, the white auto supra, a couple new mustangs, etc. As we were leaving, we saw you guys taking the pics and my buddy jokingly screamed if you guys wanted another Holden in the pic but it was too noisy for you guys to hear it.

If you are cammed by then, you will do much more than break into the 12's lol
