Holden Special Vehicles confirms launch of E Series 2

HSV confirmed today the highly successful E Series range will be given a major upgrade with new features, driver enhancements and visual changes for introduction later in 2009.


According to Managing Director Phil Harding, the multi-million dollar program includes major visual differentiation and introduces at least five firsts for Australian production cars – a huge shot in the arm for the local industry.


“We know our customers want the latest technologies, as well as distinctive luxury and performance features in their HSV,” he said.


“Our customers will be delighted with the delivery of improved economy, more power, some truly exciting driver enhancements and distinctive design themes.”


HSV will start a staged preview campaign aimed at generating customer interest and demand in the new model. Dealers, frequent buyers and loyal customers will be supplied this information ahead of general release because of the importance of this new model to HSV.


The HSV Dealer network has been briefed on the changes, and they are actively speaking with past, present and future customers about the exciting new models.


“This represents a massive change for the successful E Series range and is the culmination of three years of research and development,” Phil Harding said.


More details will be released when E Series 2 is launched.

Take the E2 GTS and then extend the black up the middle of the hood like the Firehawk and you have a winner! IMO

Pictures of the new E2 were only just released today. The cars wont be available to buy until November.

Think back to how long it was from when you first saw a G8 picture until you first saw one at a dealership. If the bumpers are even available to buy it will be many months until they'd reach USA soil.

Great looking cars, good thing they are not sent here to the U.S. they probably would not sell. I think it was a good decision By GM to stop sending cars like these here to the U.S. Totally correct! We don't want them! We won't buy them!

A lot of money! Honestly I really think Holden is / will think of opening a divsion in the states. Even if they only have dealerships in big major cities they would probably sell well.

I think the Cruze, sportwagon, epica, caprice and statesman would all sell well in the states. As far as the commodore well it would not be their #1 seller but a nice adder to have.

The Senator looks different to me. The other ones seem to use the Pontiac hood, or something realy similar.

I am confident we WILL see a Holden dealership in the states within 3 years!

Think about it GM said no more rebaging... So they cut pontiac but they can now sell th G8 as what it truly is, as well as a few other very nice compact and midsize cars.

Not only that most people will not put holden under the GM umbrella so they may pick up some of the US car haters that are currently buying japanese.
