Well tonight was my first time running the GT, and I'm a little disappointed really. Bone stock 09.
My best time was a 14.4 at 98 mph. It was a fluke, the rest of the runs were all in the 14.7 range at 97. 60' times were crappy, as expected. I was running the stock tires with normal tire pressure. They were in the 2.2 second range.
There was another stock 09 GT, and his times were pretty much identical. I think the D.A. of 5700 feet had something to do with it.
So do I just have a pig? Or does the D.A. affect things that much?

Yup the 57xx ft had to do with it. How was the weather? Learn the car some more and your 60ft times will drop. I know there are some people with stock tires and car cutting 1.9s

The temp got up to about 104 today, and at track time it was still over 90 degrees. I KNOW the heat makes a difference, I guess I just didn't expect it to be that drastic.

It does. Heatsoak is a bitch on these cars. Did you let it cool down in between passes?

lol, ya think?
I'm surprised it wasn't over 15.0 with that DA.

Pretty much what I would expect given that D.A., lol. Don't get frustrated....Go back when it's cooler and less humid and you'll love the results!

Toss your track info and your times into the following link and post back what your DA corrected time is. Probably a lot quicker.

Also - Has your car done the TCM recall? We met a new guy the other night with an 09 and he didn't have his retuned. Sport mode was OUT of the question, so he ran in Drive. Times were not nearly as good as they should have been.

Well like I said before, I knew the DA was going to hurt, I just didn't realize it would be that drastic.
And no, I haven't had the TCM reflash done yet. I'll see if I can't get that taken care of this week.

If you haven't been using sport mode already, start using it after the retune. You'll notice the difference.

Although I wasn't there (watching the fights), I was keeping in touch with someone who was there racing. The tower had the DA @ about 6500 all night long.
Your corrected time is a 13.2@106 so don't be disappointed. Amarillo has very bad air, and it's hard to brag about times with such shitty air. When you start throwing down more power, then the reasons will be the shitty air, and you couldn't hook because of the shitty track prep.:) Definitely some good times going on there though, although corrected, for a bone stock car that was probably heat soaking in the staging lanes!
BTW - sorry I didn't make it out, I was @ a Bday party 'til 5, and then went and watched the fights.
