I'm still on the fence with it. I'm either going to leave it unmounted where I can pull the wires from the cubby area. Or I was going to mount the on switch and light in the cubby area, and the activator button in the area right of the shifter opposite of the emergency brake.

Two good suggestions - right now I'm leaning toward the shifter mounted switch

Just heard back from SJM, the shifter mounted switch is 53 mm long. That's going to be too long for us, not enough bare stalk between console and shifter knob.

Need another plan.
