I have a 2009 GT, Sport Metallic Red and it is just full of paint chips. The front is completely peppered. On the hood there a several chips down to metal. Is anyone else having problems with paint chipping? Will warrantee cover this?

Yeah the paint is craptastic thin. Good luck getting it covered with the warranty.

I would talk to your dealer about it, how long ago did you get it, How many miles on her?

Mine has chips, Especially front plastic bumper dings. The plastic dings very easily. I have literally 1000s on the front bumper. The paint is still there, just plastic is so soft.

One word...Clearbra (is that two words?). For the DD, you can either put a bra on it, or have it painted yearly. Each is probably gonna run around 500 bones.

I have 8500 miles and the car is 3 months old. I now have a clear bra, but I don't want to put it on a swiss cheese paint job. The really odd thing is that chips show up all over the car. From top to bottom, side to side. If it continues, in a year I will be with out 50% paint!! I just think if we can band together, GM will have to listen and do something. (HaHa)

I've seen the paint chip issue on other G8's. I put a clear bra on my car on day # 3 of ownership. I still managed to get chipped on the passnger side fender. :(

I had my front fascia repainted @ 5K miles and the bodyshop added a "flex" additive. 2,500 miles later, it still looks great. Another SRM owner here....:)

I have a nice chip on the driver's side fender flare and I touched it up with paint from a dealer (from my dad's 300C). You can tell when you look at it but at least it's not white on black now. I don't understand why white cars have black underneath when they chip and black has white... DUMB! I only had the car for 2 days and had a scratch on the passenger side rear door that I hope to be able to buff out.

Yep...I've got quite a few as well. Seems like I notice more and more each time I wash the car, even in some weird places where I dont think freeway rocks...etc. wouldnt cause it. Kinda aggrivating if u ask me.

Yeah I found one on my passenger rear door. Well technically not the door, but the chip is right next to the door. Like it looks like it should have chipped the door too because it wraps around underneath it... but wow.

So when guys talk about a clear bra, is this what they are referring to: http://www.invisiblemask.com/overview.html, or is it something else?? How well do these things work. This invisible mask product seems very thin. Anyone know if it really works?

There was a guy on Tech selling them in the G8 section. VERY expensive from what I saw but very good work. Better than the ones I've seen.
