IM sorry to offend anyone who disagrees but i got my first engagment with the G8 about 2 hours ago.. with one of these fag looking SSR trucks. that is about the most useless, stupid looking, pt cruiser wanna be POS ANY auto maker has ever devised. and the preppy boy fag driving it can kiss it too. on interstate. there was to much traffic, I couldn't pass him. All I could do was hammer it up to his bumper then pat it. it appeared to be at least an 05 maybe an 06. it was strong but u cant argue with the laws of physics. my car is much more aerodynamic than that yellow brick turd. if the loser would have give me the chance i could have easily passed him. those trucks SUCK.
Im calling this a win. he was by his self, I had a co-pilot i.e. ( a wittness to the pedal patting i was doing). I just had no where to pass the loser.. he probably still thinks he beat me.. :poof:

You automatically win because it was an SSR.

Seriously, nobody likes those stupid-ass things, so don't feel like you're touching everyone's raw nerves about it. I'm on another site for all LS-powered vehicles and these pieces of shit don't even get a section (so really all LS-powered vehicles except the SSR).

Ive got no beef with the SSR. Pretty cool rides, imo.

Sorry everyone. Just had to vent about it but I still KNOW my car is faster and I KNOW those things are stupid.

i am not a big fan of them either but i have always thought it would be cool to build one with a 408 on spray and roll out hard. It is just not something that is expected.nice kill.

If it has the 6.0 its 400 hp and only weighs a little bit more then we do. I have seen them run in the 11s.

same goes for this post IMO :)

I'm one of the few that does like them. You're entitled to your own opinion, but wording your dislikes how you do, makes you sound no better than the way you described the driver.

I wish you where up here I know a few SSR's that would make you think twice about calling them turds...

guy that owns a local chevy dealership here has a LS7R motor in it running about 600hp NA.

Or only 300 if it had a 5.3. A guy in my neighborhood has one and a LS3 Vette.
Have to find out what is the SSR someday :)

Like I said. Sorry had to vent, was pissed still at the time..
oh and if there is some modded one in upper wherever thats uber fast is really irrelivant. My car is bone stock. this one was also apparently bone stock, and I could have passed him if he was not so busy playing block. stock for stock i have more car, he has a two seater truck that gets worse gas milage, it cost way more when new, and has no practical use what so ever, that was really my underlying point without the emotions. sorry not feeling the truck. the Typhoon, TBSS, Jeep SRT8, all WAY more practical.

p.s. nothing is going to make me stop thinking its a turd. sorry. the truck is a turd.

Find a bone stock 6.0 SSR and run it and let me know if you still think its a turd.

had not been so expensive I might have gotten one. Just couldn't justify the cost and loading stuff up from HomeDepot . :)

Info: The 2003 and 2004 models used General Motors' Vortec 5300 engine, a 5.3 L 300 hp V8. Performance was not spectacular at 7.7 s to 60 mph (97 km/h) with a 15.9 s/86.4 mph quarter mile run. The 2005 SSR used the 390 hp (291 kW) LS2 V8 also found in the C6 Corvette and Pontiac GTO, and also offered a manual transmission (the six-speed Tremec) for the first time, as an option. For the 2006 model year, the LS2 engine featured minor modifications that boosted its output to 395 hp (automatic transmission) and 400 hp (manual transmission), respectively

my buddy had one with an LS2 and it was flat out fast. Top down the car looks good. I don't know why people don't like it. Very much a concept car brought to life like the Prowler. My friends truck took little work to make 450WHP and he was running mid 12's all day long.

I like them!

Everytime I see them I turn my head. That is how I know I knew I wanted the G8.
Because when I saw the G8 I always turned my head to keep looking.

If it was more practical I would own one.
But if I am going to own a 2 seater that turns head I am going to buy a vette.

IMO you sound like a child. And the way you were driving was stupid.

They are ok but I will agree with you that they are useless.

I still don't get why anyone would get one when you could get a perfectly good Silverado SS. It makes absolutely no sense.

Well in defense of the LS2 SSR, it's faster than what IMO was a fail on behalf of GM with their Silverado SS. The supercharged Harley trucks were faster than the Silverado SS.

They should have put the LS2 in the Silverado SS.

I like the later SSR's also, but I don't pretend it's a truck. It's a 2 seat convertable w/ a HUGE trunk....

Yes, and a power hardtop making it as such. All built on regular length GMT-360 Trailblazer/Envoy full body on frame guts, so it's not a lightweight thing either, and has some strength to the bones at least.

It's an interesting package. Not exactly a G8 match up, but a later year with the LS2 can be very fast, and depending on mods (like a G8) even more so. But, at the core, still a truck. A very cool one, I say, if you've ever looked one over inside and out, and very concept, show car like which is what makes it. Otherwise, no, it isn't a "haul stuff" truck or a true sports car. It is what it is. A very unique looking, 2 seater, convertible, truck-based, something...I like them, especially a last model year Bermuda Blue (the closest any color has ever come to Pacific Slate) with stock chrome wheels model that runs around here locally.
