MPH light kill

When you have the head lights on the dash is normally lit. When just the daytime running lamps are on, the MPH light is super white and bright. Is there a way to stop it? Pulling a fuse? Has anyone tried to do this yet. It is a little annoying. I know the MPH gauge is there and what the speed is.
