G8 gt 6 speed swap?

Has anyone swapped the auto for a stick yet? Does anyone know how much it might run? I should have just bought the gxp but since I didn't I'd like to look into a swap

i haven't seen it done yet and have no idea how much it would run but probably alot. These transmission are holding up pretty well, i don't think anyone hase blown one yet from to much power

Come on all you great mod companies and sponsors out there: can you import or put together a M6 tranny/clutch package for us GT owners? This 6.0 liter is begging to me matched to a manual shift!!!!!!

With all the guys doing all sorts of semi complicated mods out there, like headers cams etc, why not this? Can't be too difficult to swap.

I guess they want the opportunity to mis-shift and side-step the clutch. I see no other reason to trade out the great A6 transmission for an M6 in our GTs.

I don't know about the G8, but for the GTO if you were going to swap to the M6 you had to also change out the wiring harness.

I've swapped the aod out in fox body mustangs for tremec,t5's many times you need pedals, cable, tranny x member it's about a 5 hr job. I'm tired of my a6 not acting right. It's back at the tuner now

This is an interesting idea, but in this day of integrated electronics controlling everything, I bet it's trickier than the old Fox Mustangs.

My G8 GT is my first automatic since 1985, other than my S10 truck, which is a second vehicle. I sure wish GM would've brought the manual in on the GT.

The SuperChips Cortex tuner woke up my A6. Since Florida has no twisty roads and survives on traffic ticket revenue, I don't get to do much spirited downshifting. For acceleration purposes, the tuned A6 is faster and more efficient than I could ever be with a manual. Now that the torque management sloppiness is nearly eliminated, the car sounds like a manual transmission and expert driver are hiding inside the A6 case. If the rapid shifts strain my neck, a few minutes of reprogramming can restore the A6 to gentle stock settings.
