View Full Version : TVS 2300 owns my soul

O.K., I just paid for the Maggie 2300 in full to my install shop in Las Vegas(LEP). Hell yeah is all I can think of to say right now. After a year of dreaming of this day I can't believe I did it. Now the real torture is waiting for it to get hear and get put in. I'm currently at 400rwh with the mods I have already.

This car is already the fastest and nicest one I have ever owned second to the 97 Camaro SS anniversary edition I purchased new when I worked for G.M. I can't imagine what it will be like with the Magnacharger too. Anyways, I'm going crazy trying to stay busy in the mean time. I've done so much shit around the house that the wife is wondering WTF I'm on right now!

I had to go to 2 different banks to take out the money because they didn't have enogh cash on hand. I have never spent that kind of money in one wad before. Three thoughts crossed my mind as I left the second bank: 1.Put it back in you idiot 2. Hit the Casinos and double it! 3.Go directly to Leading Edge Performance and do what you came to do I chose option 3. I will post updates as soon as I can.:)

Your going to have a bad ass car on your hands! I'm thinking you may need a cage at the drag strip. :)

Alright, it has been 3 weeks and Magnacharger still can't give a possible date as to when my supercharger will be shipping. Am I being unreasonable with being aggravated with this. I know it is a quality product and worth the wait but in this economy I would think this process would be a little quicker. If any vendors out there have an actual TVS 2300 unit on their shelf for a 08 G8 GT let me know.

VegasNate

Yeah, when i was price shopping I got some info from Andy. Their price is good but obviously did not include the install cost, since I'm way out here. The main issue is that the 2300 kit is not "pre made on the shelf". I think Livernois would still have to order the build. I'm not one who likes to bitch and moan but I'm doing it right now because I basically lived as a "hermit" to save up for this supercharger. I didn't go anywhere, weekends are always Netflix nights, and basically thought about it 24/7 in order to reach my goal. After many months of doing this, I still await the climax.:jerkoff:

We shall see whats happens.:wah:

Here is the latest...Went to put the new intake on and ran into issues because I already did the DOD delete kit which requires a new valley tray cover. The new valley tray cover has a " nipple" sticking out in the front which prevents the intake from fitting properly. On the plus side, Joe from Magnacharger is coming out to Vegas tonight and has a valley tray that will work. Good luck for a change.:woohoo:

The Dayton economy is seriously in the shitter. Delphi shut down, and I think it was the beginning of the end. West Chester and surrounding areas are all really booming though. A big pharma company from California moved in, and GE is opening a huge office off of the Union Center Exit. Springfield is starting to slowly grow towards Cincinnati, and it's all kind of becoming one large city w/ a not so noticeable gap between the two. That being said, badass on the supercharger. Can't wait to hear the results!

Smart move getting out of Delphi when you did. That will go down as a great decision in your life.

The Dayton economy is really, really struggling. Obviously with GM going down the tubes it hurts, but now that NCR is moving out, too, things are looking really bad. I was fortunate to get hooked up with a good job with the Home Depot in their distribution center down in Monroe, so I'm one of the lucky ones.

Give me a PM if you're ever home and we'll head out so you can ride in a "slow" G8 and appreciate how much faster your car is!

:secret: I'm with him. Having done both the 1900 and 2300 I see no reason to not run the 2300 on everything 5.3L and bigger. We've done a 1900 on a bolt on GTO, 1900 on a 5.3L truck, and done a 2 bar tune on a 2300 on a 7.0L in a Suburban. We're also doing an SSR project using a 2300 on a 408 that will be completed soon. The biggest difference we've found from testing is that the 2300 really begins to shine as the boost goes up. If you were just going to bolt the blower on and keep it stock and at 6psi or so then go with the 1900. If you plan to run more than 6psi, run the bigger blower. Keep in mind that the ZR1 is only a 6.2L and uses a 2300 stock. I think by this winter or next spring there is going to be alot of guys wishing they'd spent the money for the bigger 2300 as they mod more. Once the final results are posted on this G8 it may get some people thinking that the 2300 is the better choice.

The customer took it to the track on stock tires and it was traction limited to say the least. I want to say it ran 12.2 @ 130 or 132 MPH.

That is some serious MPH! How is the transmission holding up?

Trans is holding up fine. Definitely good mph, now just needs a tire. Our 2007 Mustang GT weighs 3,780 w/ me in it and runs 10.70's @ 130 mph.

hey rick how was the power with that car off idle? you think with et streets it'd run decent 60 foot times with a stock converter? or did it need a converter?

It didn't have ET Streets, it has 20" Nitto Drag Radials. You have to pedal it, but it hooked decent. There is a video of it on our YouTube. I don't want to Hijack Nate's thread too bad :)

I guesstimate 530 to the wheels. Without the fuel system upgrade can go to far.

130 MPH is moving. I didn't know the G8 had that kind of ability with cam, full exhaust, and a 3.3" 1900.

Just our luck. Worst weather day I think yet in Vegas for Dyno numbers.

Hot & humid.
Density Altitude today at the time of the run.

6905 feet:puke:

I only wish we had some sea level air. No excuses car still made great power on 91.
Nate can post the results.
