View Full Version : Mesh filter/screen in the top of the airbox lid

I better ask as it seems too obvious - which means I'm probably missing something ;-)

In the top of the airbox lid is a white mesh fliter/screen. Since it is above the filter, I'm not sure what it is supposed to do. I guess if the filter came apart it would stop it from being injested - What is it for and can it be safely removed?

It looks like an absorbant material. Maybe it's to absorb some extra moisture that gets by the filter?

nope, just a high flow filter.

My G8 is about to loose this piece then. It seems like it would be nothing but an obstruction to airflow.
