It was a little warm today 82 degrees so I decided to have the AC on. After about an hour I noticed a moan coming from the power steering. Only when I turned right. Turned off the AC and let the car warm up and this went away. Any ideas?

I havent seen that on a G8, but these cars seem to be having a/c compressor clutch issues. I doubt that is your noise. Check your P/S fluid. It takes Dex 6. It should look red in color.

Checked it an completely full. that was the first thing I checked. Like I said, i had to let the car warm up with the ac off for the noise to go away. So it was like it was freezing up.

I've noticed the exact same thing. Do you find it happens more often at low speed turns (say, backing out of a parking spot)? And it only happens after the car's been running for a while, with the AC on.

Yep, happening on the V6 also. My question, are the Holdens in Australia experiencing the same problems that we are here in the U.S. (AC, suspension etc)?

It might be an a/c issue. Try using the a/c NOT in recirculation mode and see if it stops. If it does it would indicate that it might be freezing up.

I felt less steering assistance when the AC was on today. It was very slight and only at low speed (parking lot).
