My vararam makes contact with my hood when closed.I used a silver sharpie to determine that it was making contactat the hood scoops. Is this normal?

It will barely touch, BUT make sure the scoop is sitting on the condenser at a slight angle.

Measure the boot. I don't have a tape measure handy but I spent an hour looking like an idiot because the boot was cut too long on a customers setup. I'm sure someone can get a measurement for ya.

The boot being the rubber sleeve that connects to the MAF and TB right?

edit as I don't think I have any more room for the rad to lean back anymore
