Mazda RX-8

so I was on the way to the movies tonight with the g/f riding shotgun, following a black RX-8. was pretty clean. anyways to make a long story short, I eventually got a lane to pull into as I just wanted to pass this guy. red light thought otherwise. right before it was about to go green, I hear a buzzing sound winding up next to me. I smiled, and laughed, and loaded the transmission to around 2000 rpm. it went green and I launched pretty good outa the hole.

I think he hit it at first, then let off almost immediately as I jumped a good 6 lengths away from him in 1st gear right off the bat. I've never been rev'd at, at an intersection before-- unless he was looking to launch lol. irony of the story was he was also with his g/f riding shotgun, heading to the same movies place I was. we passed them looking for a place to park in the parking lot, and everyone had a good laugh but him.

I used to have an RX8 - zero torque, 238 hp, and the wheel hop off the line is terrible. You should be able to take an 8 at any speed, hole shot or roll.

RX8 was a huge disappointment. I was hoping for a much quicker car out of that platform.

I loved the interior of those RX8s when they first came out, and the exterior was pretty nice, but those rear suicide doors starts to look a bit strange the more you look at them.

Nice kill. It probably made the movie even that much better to watch.

The RX-8's are nice looking cars though. Especially in the rear view mirror! :rofl:
