Anyone else had a problem with the external temp "locking up"?

Mine is reading 51 and it is quite a bit warmer than that today! LOL

It's happened before but it always seemed to start working properly after about 10 minutes on the road

GM has had this issue for a few years now. The outside temp sensor is going bad. It is attached to the inside of the front bumper.

Thanks GRRRR8!

I appreciate the info.

Is that one of those things that I have to wait for it to fail or will the dealership give me a hassle about replacing it if it's operating properly when I take it in?

Is there a recall or technical bulletin for the issue?

Thanks again GRRRR8!!!

I am sure if they know their ass from a hole in the ground they have done a lot of Tahoes for the same issue. On the Tahoes if it read -20 the A/C didnt work!

not to hijack here but I've noticed my aat after driving for a period of time gets to maybe 12-15 degrees cooler than the actual outside temp...is that right?

the external temp on the radio display seems to be right and my hsrk iat matches the external one.

What PL failed to mention is that this rectal upgrade is roughly the size of a large 5 lb. salami and it is permanent. :hang:
