Thats the new craze here in Houston too. The race starts at 50-70 until there is a obvious winner.

LOL! New craze ehh? 1996, we would start at 100 on S Mopac in A Town. Typhoons/Cyclones, Supras and the Impala SS were top dogs back then in my group.

I know you can't read this now, but we all wish you well Charlie.

Thanks for bumping the thread. I miss Austin and enjoyed the limited views, even if most were at dark.

That was good. Reminds me of the ol' days when I-485 wasn't completed on the western end... roll offs are fun

Some fast ass cars, couple probably ran low 10's or maybe faster.

Shit, we use to run flying mile races on US 27 back in the 70s. You're all late :)

Not me, I've been there and I'm talking 60's. Now the cars are must much faster street cars. You couldn't really drive a 9 second car on the streets back then and there really weren't any. Any 9 second car in the 60's or 70's was on the drag strip. Now a twin turbo setup is very feasible and its still cheaper to build. My Nova ran 9.70's and you couldn't begin to drive it on the street.
