You guys be careful, 160 is awful fast if you're not experienced with that sort of speed. One tiny error and you're strawberry jam.

I am in agreement 100%. Make sure you know your car and the road 1st. I have many years of hi-speed driving experience and I just dont go flying down unknown roads and I know my car! I have put it to many tests at all speeds and conditions so I am well aware of its limitations.....currently! Pedders will fix most of it and more power will fix the rest.

I'd say I'm at 5 seconds flat stock 0-60. Breaking it won't be hard.

yes i agree to...yall have more years of experience than me and im not gunna try and put myself on the high horse about my driving skills...my dad did drive professonaily for BMW and has taught me some stuff...but on the other side i got alot to learn...i will know my limits and not test them! claire just wants to break 150 lol...the roads around here arent best for high speed runs...better for going into turns then coming out of them quick and back down for another turn...pretty fun...couple roads at my farm i can get some decent drifting in! =PP

5 seconds flat stock? Timed by what? That would be very impressive.

150 will take some space. After 120, the pace slows down a bit. I would suggest finding a airstrip or something similar in size to achieve your 150 MPH goal.

Just your average ticker. I'm still looking for my stopwatch. Oh yeah, I have one on my phone I think. I'll time myself tomorrow.

I didn't think it was that quick before the latest update, but now she's shifting wonderfully and I chirp second. Also have GRRR8's LPM done with the snorkel opened up for some fresh air.

Thinking where to mount the HSRK so I can plug it back when I turn in the car.

Dont know about this though, the breaking distance is different than the 109 feet I thought we had.

everynow and then ill turn out of a parking lot and it switches into second during the turn but ill stomp it coming out of the turn..it puts the clutch in.,,rpms go up some then it just sounds like it cuts off...then after what feels like 3 seconds but is only maybe a second it guns it...but if i gun it while going like 50...puts the clutch in picks a gear and goes..???

Well, sounds like you have some hesitation my friend. Take it in when you have time and complain about poor throttle response and hesitation. They should update your computer in about a half hour. The update came out last month and applies to some 09's as well.

Sounds like you might need the latest dealer TCM update. Mine used to do that before the update. Just complain to the dealer about transmission lag.

Guess your asking me?

Yes, there is a big difference. With my car, it was a night and day difference. Shifts are quick now and no more hesitation/lag. Like I said, the update was just released last month...many owners still don't have the latest update. And the dealership won't just load up the new program, you have to complain about hesitation and poor throttle responce. I also complained about the torque management. I know that is something they can adjust as well.

It's been wet here, so I haven't been able to time my stock 0-60. I'm also going to do a 0-100-0 and see how she does. I plan on rolling video, so I can share :)

I've never been that fast on public roads. But, I've held my Trans Am at 185 for a while on a closed interstate. Now, this is with suspension, aero and race tires, so it was OK at those speeds.

With a street care, they really aren't designed to go that fast. Once you get into tripple digit speeds, aero lift becomes a huge factor. The wing on the back of my racecar is only 5' wide and 1' long, and it generates 300lbs of downforce at 100mph. The 1995 BMW M3 (somewhat similar body style to our car) generates about 500lbs of lift at 100mph, with most of that lift being generated over the rear window and decklid.

So, there really is no reason to find a top speed. At these speeds, 130 feels about the same as 185.

Very true! I found my car to feel skittish above 145 and at 160+ plus well beyond a normal drivers ability and would not want to have to steer at that speed for sure!

You got that right! The guard rail was just a metal rail with no supports and the divided lines were not divided at 160! Just a straight blur.

Reading this reminded me of this... This is near and dear to my heart as my father has this car. HE has always had fast cars growing up and NEVER let me drive them because he knew what kids do.

Here's the horribly tragic story...
